Paro Tshechu

Paro Tshechu is one of the most renowned and vibrant religious festivals in Bhutan, celebrated annually in the town of Paro. With its roots deeply embedded in Bhutanese culture and Buddhism, Paro Tshechu holds significant religious and cultural importance for the people of Bhutan. Lasting for several days, the festival features a colourful array of traditional mask dances, folk music, and religious ceremonies. Day 1: Arrival in Paro
Arrive at Paro International Airport. Transfer to your hotel and check-in. Relax and unwind after your journey. Evening orientation and welcome dinner.

Day 2: Paro Tshechu Begins
Attend the opening day of the Paro Tshechu. Experience the colorful masked dances, traditional music, and religious rituals. Explore the festival grounds, interact with locals, and enjoy the festive atmosphere. Visit Rinpung Dzong, a fortress-monastery overlooking the Paro Valley. Overnight in Paro.

Day 3: Tiger’s Nest Monastery Hike
Embark on an early morning hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Paro Taktsang). Enjoy the scenic hike through lush forests and breathtaking views. Explore the monastery’s sacred temples and meditation caves. Descend back to Paro and relax in the evening. Overnight in Paro.

Day 4: Explore Paro Valley
Visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest and most sacred temples. Explore the National Museum of Bhutan to learn about the country’s history and culture. Stroll through Paro town, shop for souvenirs, and soak in the local atmosphere. Attend more sessions of the Paro Tshechu in the afternoon and evening. Overnight in Paro.

Day 5: Cultural Excursion in Thimphu
Drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city. Visit the Buddha Dordenma statue and enjoy panoramic views of the Thimphu Valley. Visit the National Memorial Chorten. Explore the vibrant markets and handicraft shops of Thimphu. Attend a traditional Bhutanese cultural show in the evening. Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 6: Return to Paro Tshechu
Return to Paro to witness the final day of the Paro Tshechu. Participate in special rituals and ceremonies held on the last day of the festival. Enjoy traditional Bhutanese food and refreshments offered at the festival. Attend the concluding events and performances with local dancers and musicians. Overnight in Paro.

Day 7: Departure
